Royal Society for Public Health - Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene   

Aims of the course:

To provide an understanding of the principles of food safety and how to apply knowledge to control hazards and prevent food poisoning.

At the end of the course learners will undertake a 45 minute multiple choice test. 

Course content includes:

An introduction to food safety

Basic microbiology

Food poisoning and foodborne disease

Contamination and the prevention of food poisoning

Food delivery

Personal hygiene

Basic design and construction

Food pests and control

Cleaning and disinfection

Food safety legislation

Note - this course generally runs as two half day sessions. Please check details of attendance dates through the 'upcoming courses' list as all dates may not be shown on 'course calendar'.
